How to send a vCard in an MMS message

1. Create your vCard

You can create a vCard by:

  • Creating a contact on your phone and exporting it as a vCard, or

  • Using a trusted online vCard generator

Save the vCard file to your computer.

If you already have a vCard created, you can skip this step.

For best results, we recommend using an online generator for this task. There are a few tools that do this online. One example is http://vcardmaker.com/, there is also other options with richer features, such as https://www.qrcode-monkey.com/.

The following fields are mandatory:

  1. First Name (or company name) - we recommend utilizing the first name field.

  2. Cell Phone - Here is where you will put the phone number on your account

    1. If on Short Code, number format = 313-77

    2. If on a 10DLC or Toll-Free Number, number format = 855-662-4648

You can then include any additional information you may want your customers to have. We recommend including social media information and your work address if you have a brick-and-mortar store. If your business has a phone number where customers can call you, we recommend storing that information in the Work Phone category.

2: Upload the vCard to Mobiniti

Create a new SMS campaign

  1. Paste the vCard file link into the message body

  2. Add a short message, such as:
“Save our contact so you don’t miss important updates.”

  3. Select your recipient group

  4. Send or schedule the campaign

When recipients tap the link, their device will prompt them to add your contact.

Important Notes

  • Sending the vCard as a link via SMS is widely supported and compatible across devices

  • This method is recommended for better deliverability and spam filtering protection

  • Customers must tap the link to save the contact manually
