Short Code

Short codes are 5-6 digit numbers designed for high-volume, application-driven messaging. Short codes can send SMS and MMS at 1,500 Messages Per Second (MPS), and this high throughput is perfect for applications needing to send time-sensitive messages to many users at once. Furthermore, since carriers vet and approve all short codes for their intended use, they are not subject to carrier filtering or suspension for heavy traffic.

Examples of applications best suited to a short code include: marketing communications, large one-to-many notification bursts, and high volumes of one-to-one transnational notifications.

An example of a Short Code is 64600.

Mobiniti offers the opportunity to purchase a dedicated short code.

10DLC (Long Codes)

Long codes are 10 digit numbers designed for person-to-person communications, and can send only 1 Message Per Second (MPS) per long code. Long codes can send both SMS and MMS.

Examples of applications best suited for long codes include: appointment reminders, conversations, notifications, or 2FA.

An example of a Long Code is 570-544-3322

Toll-Free Numbers

Toll-free numbers are 10 digit numbers (800 #'s) designed for high-volume, application-driven messaging. With High Throughput Toll-Free we have bumped the burst throughput for toll-free numbers to start from 25 Messages Per Second (MPS).

Examples of applications best suited for toll-free numbers include: marketing communications, large one-to-many notification bursts, and high volumes of one-to-one transnational notifications, appointment reminders, conversations, notifications, or 2FA.

An example of a Long Code is 855-443-2222
