All Mobiniti users must have a CTIA-compliant opt-in process to collect their contacts’ data and send them SMS/MMS campaigns. Some of the most common opt-in processes for SMS marketing include keyword advertisements and web opt-in pages. You can create either opt-in process within your Mobiniti account.

Keywords

Keywords can be created within a new group of contacts, or can be added to an existing one.

After your keyword has been created, you can begin advertising it to your contacts! Many Mobiniti users share their keywords on their website, social media pages, or in person.

Be sure to add the following SMS Terms and Conditions anywhere your keyword is advertised:

Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

* Including Terms and Conditions is an important step!

Web Opt-in Pages

Web opt-in pages are available under the Groups and Keywords tab. The opt-in page can be extensively customized to represent your brand.

Once your web opt-in page is ready, you can share it with your contacts on your website, social media pages, or in person.

QR Codes

QR codes can be generated for any keyword you have set up in your Mobiniti account. Scanning your QR code will quickly prompt your contact to subscribe to your campaigns via keyword.

Hardcopy Opt-ins

If your use case works best with a paper or hardcopy opt-in, these steps will help you create a CTIA-compliant opt-in process.

  1. Let your contact know what they are signing up to receive from you. For example, a restaurant may want to have their contacts sign up for weekly specials, and someone who produces content might want to advertise new content alerts.

  2. Be sure to include CTIA Terms and Conditions anywhere you are opting in your contacts. The necessary terms and conditions are: Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

  3. Provide your contacts with a direct link to your Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

A few things to be mindful of:

  • Always be sure you are asking your contacts if they would like to sign up to receive your SMS campaigns, rather than telling them they are being signed up to receive your campaigns.

  • Including a checkbox that gives your contacts the option to sign up for your SMS campaigns significantly improves the chances of your account becoming verified/registered.

Asking your contacts to opt in might look like:
